We would like to announce updates to IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog on Public Cloud that will take effect on October 1, 2020.

IBM Watson® Knowledge Catalog powers intelligent, self-service discovery of data, models, and more. The cloud-based enterprise metadata repository activates information for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning. Access, curate, categorize, and share data, knowledge assets, and their relationships, wherever they reside.

What’s changing?

For Watson Knowledge Catalog on Public Cloud, there will be pricing and entitlement updates to the Lite, Standard, and Professional plan. The changes impact the following:

  • Instance Prices
  • Additional User Price
  • Price Per Capacity Unit Hour
  • Number of Included Users
  • Number of Included Assets
  • Number of Included Business Terms

What are the differences between the current plan and the new changes?

All prices are in USD. For the most up-to-date pricing and entitlement details, visit the Knowledge Catalog pricing page.

When do changes take effect?

The updates will become available on October 1, 2020.

If you already have the Lite, Standard, or Professional plan, updates will occur automatically. Your existing assets and catalog users will remain unchanged. However, if you have exceeded the user limits, you won’t be able to add more users. In that case, you can remove users that are below the usage limits, or you can upgrade to the standard or professional plan.

How do I change or upgrade my plan?

You can change or upgrade your plan through your IBM Cloud Dashboard. Click on your existing Watson Knowledge Catalog service, then go to the Plan tab and select a new plan.
