A four-year college degree is no longer the only route to a good job. High school students from diverse backgrounds are getting a great education, building their skills and landing the “new collar” jobs of the emerging cognitive era. Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH), created by IBM with leading educational partners, offers a unique six year curriculum (grades 9–14) resulting in an associate degree. Dozens have already graduated ahead of schedule, prepared for jobs in high demand at IBM and many other companies. P-TECH will soon be available in 100 schools across six U.S. states and Australia.
