ILMT V9.2.38 is now available

The quarterly update of the IBM Licensing Metric Tool (ILMT) Version 9.2.38 is now available and introduces the following new features and changes:

• Grouping and filtering computers by adding custom tags: You can improve grouping and filtering of computers by adding tags that meet your individual business needs. You can also use REST API to add and remove tags.
• REST API for generating audit snapshots: You can use REST API to automate the generation of audit snapshots. It can help you reduce the amount of work, for example, if you generate multiple reports for multiple computer groups.
• Anonymizing sensitive data in the audit snapshot: If you are using the audit snapshot to automate some processes around IBM software asset management, you can anonymize sensitive data so that it is not included in the snapshot.

• Data source classification in migration scenarios: If you import data from multiple data sources, you can mark each data source as active, inactive, or source for migration. It helps to ensure that the lack of connectivity to an inactive data source does not cause that the import fails. It also ensures that computers that are migrated between data sources do not report to them interchangeably.
• Increased number of pre-approved endpoints for License Metric Tool Lite: The number of endpoints that is pre-approved for License Metric Tool Lite is increased from 500 to 5000. For environments with more reporting endpoints, you need to obtain an approval from the IBM Software Asset Management Team to use License Metric Tool Lite.
• Support for new platforms and systems: Support is introduced for the following platforms and systems:     
  
  - Windows 2025 by using the disconnected scanner and BigFix client     
  - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 on zSystems by using the BigFix client     
   
• Removal of support for BigFix 9.5: HCL withdrew support for BigFix 9.5 on June 30th, 2024. Because of that, License Metric Tool withdraws support for the BigFix server and clients in version 9.5 in this application update. If you continue using BigFix 9.5, your License Metric Tool environment continues working but you will not receive support from IBM if you encounter problems related to BigFix. Starting from 2Q2025, imports of data to License Metric Tool will stop working and upgrading BigFix components will be required.
• Removal of deprecated REST APIs: REST APIs that were marked as deprecated in application update 9.2.23 and were substituted by REST API for retrieving software inventory and metric utilization and classifying software (v2) are removed from License Metric Tool. If you are using any of the deprecated REST APIs in custom tools or internal processes, adjust the tools to use the new version of the APIs.
