Problem conclusion
IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.13 and later now include two changes: (1) the default IBM Spectrum Protect Plus host address global preference is now blank and (2) the VADP installation code will now fail if no IBM Spectrum Protect Plus host address name (determined through the global preference or any other fallback mechanism, such as environment variables) can be found during VADP installation. This results in the VADP installation failing overtly, rather than implicitly, when a user attempts to install a VADP, the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus host address global preference is empty, and a fallback mechanism fails to determine the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus host address. These changes also leaves the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Global Preferences page in a usable state when the SPP host address preference cannot be determined.
