Error description
In the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus restore wizard, VMware guests can be restored to an alternate location. This is done by selecting the radio button 'Alternate Host or Cluster' and after having selected the desired VMware ESXi host/cluster, the screen 'Set datastore' allows to select a target datastore from the drop down list 'Destination (free space)'. In a VMware vSphere environment managed by a same vCenter, if datastores are shared between 2 or more ESXi hosts located in different datacenters, then the restore wizard will not always show the expected target datastores. Depending on the selected alternate ESXi host to restore to, the datastore may be visible or not. There is no known pattern/condition from the layout of the vSphere environment that will help to know what ESXi host selection will correctly display the affected datastores. Local fix
Restore the VMware guest to a datastore that is selectable from the drop down list 'Destination (free space)' and then move the guest to the desired target datastore using the vCenter user interface. or Restore the VMware guest to a different ESXi host for which the target datastore is visible and then move the VM to the desired ESXi host using the vCenter user interface.

Problem conclusion
This problem can occur when the target datastore is shared across multiple datacenters due to a conflict in the key used to track the datastore internally. A change was made to ensure all mounted hosts are included when the datastore metadata is cataloged.
