APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When building the CICS Deployment Assistant server with the CICS
Explorer 5.5 update site com.ibm.cics.core.connections
causes a long dependency chain to include a large number of
extra class files.

Local fix

  • Edit the manifest in com.ibm.cics.core.model to include
com.ibm.cics.core.connections as an optional inclusion.

Problem summary

  • New code in CICS Explorer V5.5 introduced a dependency on the
z/OS Explorer connection layer, which depends on the UI, from
our model layer which resulted in a long dependency chain when
building the CICS Deployment Assistant server with the CICS
Explorer V5.5 update site.

Problem conclusion

  • The connections dependency has been removed from our model layer
by doing some refactoring.

This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.0.6 of the CICS
Explorer.
