The database administrator must prepare the databases that are required for FileNet® P8, which includes gathering information about data sources,
creating databases and database accounts.
Review all rows that are assigned to the database administrator (DBA) in the
Installation and Upgrade Worksheet. While you complete the following preparation tasks, provide
values for the rows that are appropriate to your installation. (Your organization might have
different roles, and some of the responsibilities of listed roles vary from the roles that are
assigned by default in this documentation.)
Tip: With the command enabled, as it is by default in the worksheet file
(p8_worksheet.xls), complete the following actions to quickly see only the
properties assigned to a particular Role:
- Click the AutoFilter drop-down arrow in the Role
column header and select DBA.
- Further filter the result set by clicking the AutoFilter drop-down arrow
in any of the other columns and selecting a value or clear a filter by selecting
(All).
As an alternative, you can use the
Customize Worksheet filtering macro,
which is in the
Instruction tab on the
Installation and Upgrade Worksheet.
If you are installing in a non-English environment, review the information and procedures in

If you are installing Content Platform Engine in a
highly available environment, it is important that you follow the high availability steps within the
Content Platform Engine installation tasks. If Content Platform Engine is not available due to a system failure, the other components
are affected as well.
