This new version includes features that improve the overall
quality of the product.
The following functions have been added for Rational® Programming Patterns Version 9.1.2.
Usability enhancements
- Snippets have been modified to get a harmonized and coherent behavior
of the micropatterns, whether these micropatterns are present in the
migrated code or are added by the user, in the Macros and the specific
code.
- The readability of the specific code has been enhanced with the
coloration of function and subfunction tags.
- The editor of the Text entity has been reviewed and reorganized.
The line-by-line editor has been replaced with a more productive editor
that offers a word-wrap typing mode.
Enhanced parity with the VisualAge Pacbase features
- The interface with the VisualAge® Pacbase Pactables module
is available.
- The instances of the Batch Flow Charts and Screen Navigation Charts
entities of the Pacdesign module can be imported and maintained in Rational Software Architect.
Enhanced migration process
- The micropatterns list has been extended to migrate the code that
contains a wide variety of specific code operators (P lines).
- The locks that were set in VisualAge Pacbase can be retrieved
and migrated to Rational Team Concert™.
- Libraries can be merged during the migration.
- The progressive migration of the VisualAge Pacbase sessions has been
enhanced.
Enhanced integrity controls
Rational Programming Patterns now contains
preconditions that help to ensure that the files that are about to
be delivered on the Rational
Team Concert are coherent and consistent.

- The management of Skeletons has been enhanced with the control
of duplicate tags and the creation of a view that displays the Skeleton
structure.
