To integrate IBM® Content Navigator features, like searching, browsing, and checking documents in and out of the repository, with Microsoft Office applications, IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office must be installed on client machines.
Before you deploy IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office to your users, ensure that the client machines have the required software installed. For more information, see Prerequisites for installing IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office.
In addition, ensure that the version of IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office that you plan to install is compatible with your IBM Content Navigator installation. The applications must run the same version, release, and modification levels.
IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office is an optional component. If you want to deploy IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office to client machines, you must copy the component from the IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office CD or download the component from Passport Advantage®.
To deploy IBM Content Navigator for Microsoft Office to client machines, you can either create a silent installation that you deploy to the client machines or you can deploy the installation program to the client machines and have your users install the software interactively.
