DSMSERV RESTORE DB (Restore the database)
Use this utility to restore a database by using a database backup.
Restriction: You cannot restore a server database if the
release level of the server database backup is different from the release level of the server that
is being restored. For example, an error occurs when you restore a Version 7.1.3 database and you
are using a Version 8.1 IBM Spectrum Protect™ server.
The restore operation uses database backups created with the BACKUP DB command.
Important: After a point-in-time restore operation, issue the AUDIT
VOLUME command to audit all DISK volumes and resolve any inconsistencies between database
information and storage pool volumes. Before restoring the database, examine the volume history file
to find out about any sequential access storage pool volumes that were deleted or reused since the
point in time to which the database was restored.
