Integrating data across data sources

Information integration modeling provides a set of functions in the Data perspective that can help you manage metadata.

You can use this product to discover relationships between source and target schemas, map relationships between source and target data models, build expressions that you can use in scripts that you deploy, and generate scripts from the mapping model that you can deploy.

You can also access remote data sources that are defined to a federated database, use the Topology view to display a read-only graphical view of the peer relationships between objects in your enterprise, create nicknames for remote tables that are imported to the Data Project Explorer, and select tables that might be in multiple databases and transform the tables into one new XML schema model.
