For previous releases, each component has a user's guide. For the current release, the user's guide is reformatted into an Installation and Configuration Guide, a Reference, and a Troubleshooting Guide for each component. The Installation and Configuration Guides are in this information center. In the Contents view, links are provided to the References and Troubleshooting Guides, which are in Service Management Connect.


Getting started

Common tasks

  • To install and configure a component, use the Installation and Configuration Guide for the component in the Contents view and the Tivoli Monitoring Installation and Setup Guide.

  • To monitor an application or device, use the agent-specific References in the SMC Wiki, the Tivoli Enterprise Portal User's Guide, and the Tivoli Monitoring Administrator's Guide.

Troubleshooting and support

Use the information in the Troubleshooting Guides in the SMC Wiki for the components you want to troubleshoot.
