Running diagnostics on an IBM PowerKVM system
You can use the following procedure to diagnose hardware problems on your system that is running the IBM® PowerKVM system.
- Do you suspect a problem with a 3D graphics adapter?
- Yes: The IBM Installation Toolkit for Linux provides tools for running diagnostics on some 3D graphics adapters. For instructions about troubleshooting a 3D graphics adapter by using the IBM Installation Toolkit, see PCIe2 LP 3D Graphics Adapter x1 (FC EC41) or PCIe2 3D Graphics Adapter x1 (FC EC42), depending on the 3D graphics adapter that you are using.
- No: Continue with the next step.
- Do you suspect a problem with a PCIe3 1.6 TB NVMe Flash adapter (FC EC54 and EC55; CCIN 58CB) or
a PCIe3 3.2 TB NVMe Flash adapter (FC EC56 and EC57; CCIN 58CC)?
- Yes: Determine whether the NVMe adapter maximum write capability is depleted. For instructions about determining whether the maximum write capability is depleted, see PCIe3 1.6 TB NVMe Flash adapter (FC EC54 and EC55; CCIN 58CB) or PCIe3 3.2 TB NVMe Flash adapter (FC EC56 and EC57; CCIN 58CC), depending on the NVMe Flash adapter that you are using.
- No: Continue with the next step.
