Rational Software Architecture RealTime Edition takes an evolutionary leap from the existing Rational Rose RealTime technology base for two main reasons:
- Rational Software Architecture RealTime Edition is built on the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE) platform (www.eclipse.org) and
- Rational Software Architecture RealTime Edition is based on the latest UML2 specification (http://www.omg.org/spec/UML/).
In addition, Rational Software Architecture RealTime Edition integrates with the existing stack of Rational UML Modeling tools that are built into Eclipse; these tools provide an all-in-one development environment for enterprise modeling and code generation.
