Problem

The Update Installer (or updateinstaller) is the tool used to install updates (Interim Fixes, Fix Packs, Feature Packs and Refresh Packs) to IBM WebSphere Application Server software. Use this index document to direct you to the desired version of the Update Installer for WebSphere Application Server.

Resolving The Problem

The Update Installer for WebSphere Application Server provides the following functionality:

  • A GUI Update Installer and a command-line Update Installer
  • Installation and removal of individual and multiple code updates
  • Logging and tracking, as well as recovery features and prerequisite handling

Only 1 copy of the Update Installer should be installed on your system at any 1 time. Before installing a newer version of the Update Installer, you must first remove the existing Update Installer
