How to install Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix002 in Windows XP or Vista Federal Desktop Core Configuration or Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix009 in Windows 7 USGCB environment

Question

How should IBM® Rational Rose® RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix002 be installed in Microsoft® Windows Vista®, or Windows® XP, with the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) configuration or IBM® Rational Rose® RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix009 be installed in Microsoft® Windows 7 with The United States Government Configuration Baseline?

Answer

You must install each of the following Rational® Rose RealTime releases in the order outlined here:

  1. Rose RealTime v7.0
  2. Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1
  3. Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix002

For Windows 7 the order would be as given below
  1. Rose RealTime v7.0
  2. Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1
  3. Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix004
  4. Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix007
  5. Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix009

iFix007 Requires RoseRT 7.0.0.1iFix004 available from:

iFix004 is a rollup fix which includes iFix001, iFix002 and iFix003 so can be installed directly on 7.0.0.1 or any 7.0.0.1 install already having fixes 001 through 003.

Perform the complete installation as described below.

  1. Go to (cd) to the location of the Rose RealTime v7.0 setup.exe.
  2. Double-click on setup.exe.
  3. Proceed with default Installation Manager steps.
  4. A reboot will occur, during installation.
  5. After the reboot - perform the following steps:
    1. Enter regedit from a command prompt. Within the Registry Editor, go to:
      "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce"
    2. Identify the Key associated with MsiExec - such as:

      
C:\Windows\system32\MsiExec.exe /@ "!7BE4AC8613FBE0549BE7185644912F"
    3. Within the command prompt, run the string value of the Key gathered from the previous step. In this example, you would copy and paste the following in a command prompt window (all on one line) and press enter:
      C:\Windows\system32\MsiExec.exe /@ "!7BE4AC8613FBE0549BE7185644912F"
    After performing this step, the Rose RealTime v7.0 installation will continue by performing the DLL registrations. The License Key Administrator wizard will then appear to enable licensing and the installation will complete.

Note: The Rose RealTime v7.0 installation will not complete until steps 1 through 5 described above are successfully performed.

You may now install Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 and Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix002(iFix004, iFix007 and iFix009 for Windows 7).

  1. Once Rose RealTime v7.0 is installed, go to (cd) to the location of the Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 patch and run the msp file
    "7.0.0.1-RATL-RRRT-WIN-en-US-FP01.msp":


    C:\temp> 7.0.0.1-RATL-RRRT-WIN-en-US-FP01.msp

  2. Once Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 is installed, go to (cd) the location of the Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix002 patch and run the msp file Repeat this step for all iFix patches.
    "7.0.0.1-RATL-RRRT-WIN-en-US-IFIX02.msp":


    C:\temp> 7.0.0.1-RATL-RRRT-WIN-en-US-IFIX02.msp

You now can utilize Rose RealTime v7.0.0.1 iFix002 on Windows XP or Vista FDCC and Rose RealTime 7.0.0.1 iFix009 on Windows 7 USGCB.
